PRESS RELEASE                                                                                                           Malmö, February 3rd, 2009
Naval Electronics has been acquired by Thrane & Thrane

Thrane & Thrane has signed an agreement to acquire Naval Electronics AB (‘Naval’). The acquisition is consistent with the company’s strategy to introduce new maritime products that will expand its product portfolio, strengthen the market position and enhance growth.

The acquisition means that Thrane & Thrane gains access to a new product area as Naval offers professional equipment for TV reception and distribution onboard vessels. The product line includes newly developed tracking satellite antennas, so called TV-RO (‘TV Receive Only’), targeting commercial vessels. All products complement Thrane & Thrane’s existing portfolio which currently does not include TV systems.

In addition to Naval’s existing distribution, Thrane & Thrane intends to market the new products through its global distributor network, thereby generating opportunities for further growth. The company thus expects additional revenue of around DKK 30 million in the 2009/10 financial year with revenue rising in the subsequent years.

Thrane & Thrane and Naval will use the coming months to draw up a plan for integration and further development of the activities.

Founded in 1971, Naval Electronics AB has spearheaded the development of maritime TV antennas and distribution solutions by continuously developing products for use in connection with different TV systems globally. Naval is based in Malmoe, Sweden and is owned by Lars Risberg, its managing director and founder.

Operations at Naval will continue as before and for ordering Naval products please contact, Naval at sales@naval.se or by fax at +46 40 187 413. As the plan for integration and further development is being formalised you will be informed in ample time of any changes in our operation.

About Naval Electronics AB
Ever since 1971, the objective of Naval Electronics has been to offer the best possible products for TV and Radio reception at sea. Naval Electronics began with omnidirectional antennas and is the world leader in this field of technology today. Now, with an expanding product range, the name Naval Electronics means much more than antennas. Naval Electronics operates in more than 40 countries and have installations on thousands of vessels all over the world.

Naval Electronics is introducing the
E-series family

The new family of NavSat satellite antennas from Naval Electronics, the NavSat E-series, are available in dish sizes of 60, 80 and 90 cm. The E-series, with its new pedestal in metal cast, is designed for a professional environment in demanding conditions at sea. The antennas operate with built in piezoelectronic gyroscopes and GPS. Hence, no connection to the ships gyro and GPS is necessary, which makes the installation and operation of the antennas fast and easy.

The E-series family comes with enhanced tracking capabilities such as dynamic skew control, multiple tracking methods and high pointing accuracy. For satellite acquisition the antennas are equipped with a large satellite memory bank and an automatic scanning capability. For optimised acquisition speed you can activate NIDs from geographically available satellites.

Finally the E-series comes with a state of the art control box incorporating a colour display and touch screen capability. The control unit can be delivered as your choice of stand alone or rack mounted unit.

NavSat 60E is commercially available from beginning of November and the NavSat 80E and 90E will be commercially available in Q1 2009
